The thrift store, San Tan Savers, is operated by FUSD students and it will be holding a special holiday event from 9 a.m.to noon, Saturday, Dec. 16 at the FUSD Community Education Facility, 29895 N. Desert Willow Blvd., San Tan Valley, according to a Facebook post.

During the event, each customer can get up to 10 free items of clothing, as well as five free miscellaneous items.

San Tan Savers is the district’s school-to-work program that allows students to gain useful skills they will need in a retail work environment. The students set up displays, stock shelves, sort through donated items and operate the cash register.

Normally, San Tan Savers is open during school hours to accommodate the students’ schedules. Its hours of operation are from 10 to 11 a.m., and 1 to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for Wednesdays when the store is only open in the morning.
