San Tan Foothills High School is appointing a new head football coach.

Pending approval from the Florence Unified School District Governing Board, Michael Coe will lead the Sabercats football program. San Tan Foothills High is located in Queen Creek.

Inducted into the Pacific Northwest Hall of Fame in 2014, Coe played at Glendale Community College and Pacific Lutheran University, followed by 16 years in a semi-professional league.

With 26 seasons of coaching under his belt, Coe’s experience extends from middle school to high school to the semi-professional level, according to a FUSD press release.

“The game of football made me the man I am. I owe the game immensely. I want to mold and help our young men to become the champions they were born to be,” Coe stated in the release. “I want to make this a really unbelievable place to be for not just our players, but everyone associated with San Tan Foothills football.”

Coe currently lives in San Tan Valley with his wife and two children and is a State Farm Insurance agent in Pinal and Maricopa counties.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Coe to the Sabercat family,” San Tan Foothills High School Principal Steve Miller stated in the release. “His extensive experience and dedication to developing young athletes make him the perfect fit for our program. We look forward to seeing his positive impact on our students and the community.”
