Revenue department’s live chat assists 31,000 taxpayers in first year

Posted

Arizona Department of Revenue specialists have assisted more than 31,000 taxpayers through live chat since the department debuted the service Aug. 1, 2019, on its AZDOR.gov andAZTaxes.gov websites.

The pop-up application provides customers with answers to general questions and offers navigational guidance, a department release stated.

Live chat helps taxpayers obtain general information about state taxes and e-filing, and it allows them to get responses to a variety of inquiries. Requests range from asking about unclaimed property and payment plans to matters about applying for a license, the release stated.

ADOR live chat representatives interact with customers in real-time and provide another option when seeking help.

The service is available to taxpayers from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Because taxpayer privacy is of utmost importance to the Department of Revenue, specific taxpayer issues will not be addressed through the live chat feature, the release stated.

Customers seeking assistance on particular private taxpayer matters or confidential account information will be directed to call 602-716-ADOR (2367) or email AZTaxHelp@azdor.gov.
