The Pony Express will ride again at the Roots N’ Boots rodeo in Queen Creek this week.

The Second Annual Roots N’ Boots Pony Express Ride takes place Saturday with the final leg reaching the Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre, 20464 E. Riggs Road.

Roots N’ Boots starts on Wednesday and runs through Sunday.

The 30-mile 2025 Roots N’ Boots Pony Express Ride kicks off in Florence with a special event starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Pinal County Courthouse, 12th and Pinal streets.

Florence Mayor Keith Eaton will be presenting a proclamation to officially start the express with the first rider heading out at noon.

Each leg of the ride will be about 1 mile.

The route will take the riders along Hunt Highway, Felix Road, Arizona Farms Road, Cooper Road, Bella Vista Road, Gantzel Road, Skyline Road, Empire Road, Hawes Rd, San Tan Boulevard, Sossaman Road, Power Road and Riggs Road — via the Sonoqui Wash trail — to Horseshoe Park.

“There are no designated spectator areas along the route. Watching is at the individual’s own risk,” according to the Roots N’ Boots website. “The riders will generally be moving at a quick pace, so it is important to not hinder the rider’s progress along the route
