Pinal County adds online dashboard on key economic indicators

Posted

An online dashboard of key economic indicators has been created by Pinal County economic and workforce development department staff.

The dashboard is meant to provide key stakeholders and those interested in doing business in Pinal County convenient access to data collected from various sources, according to a release.

The tool provides information on the current population as well as growth trends over the past 10 years; the current labor force and unemployment rate, along with those trends; employment and wages by industry; and information regarding the number and percent of Pinal County workers employed within the county and surrounding areas.

The information is from various sources, including the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, among others. The sources of the information used in each visualization are referenced in the visualization.

Data is collected by the sources at varying frequencies. For example, data on unemployment statistics is released on a monthly schedule, while county population estimates are produced on a yearly basis by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity, it states at pinal.gov/912/Key-Economic-Indicators.
