Phoenix man dies, 5 injured in Pinal County shooting

A shooting early Saturday morning in Casa Grande left a Phoenix man dead and five other people injured, police said.

Officers responded about 1:10 a.m. Feb. 8 to a shooting call in the 500 block of West 13th Place and found Syncere Ellington, 19, dead from an apparent gunshot, police said.

Five victims, who were not identified, were flown to hospitals for trauma care with conditions varying from stable to unknown.

Police said there are no outstanding suspects or threats to the community, and the investigation is an active.
