Panda Express donates $77K worth of PPE to Phoenix Children’s Hospital

Posted

Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of Panda Express, has donated $77,760 worth of personal protective equipment to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

The donation included 9,600 KN95 particulate respirators and 80,000 single-use surgical masks. The equipment was donated May 11 at the hospital, 1919 E. Thomas Road in Phoenix.

The donation will help keep doctors, nurses and essential healthcare workers protected as they continue to care for kids during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a release.

“This donation is simply monumental when it comes to fighting the spread of coronavirus, and for protecting our healthcare workers, patients and families,” Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, said in the release. “Panda Express and Panda Cares have made an extraordinary effort to provide this equipment the hospital relies on to give and receive best-in-class care.”

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is one of many Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to receive PPE donations from Panda Express and Panda Cares.

“Supporting the healthcare community has always been a priority for Panda Express, and we are blessed to have a partner with shared values of giving and inspiring better lives,” said Dr. Peggy Cherng, co-founder and co-CEO of Panda Restaurant Group. “It is our privilege to be able to protect and provide comfort to the selfless hospital staff and patients at CMN Hospitals. We thank our guests and associates for their generosity and support that make these donations possible. We stand together to be stronger together.”
