These three ensembles combine to play music from a variety of musical genres from ragtime to classical, from Carlos Antonio Jobim to George Frederic Handel, from Samuel Barber to Charlie Chaplin, and from Bach to Gypsy Czardas.
The Italian Saxophone Quartet entertained us during a 2018 Canyon Sounds performance. Their repertoire is broad and improvisational, displaying saxophone virtuosity at the highest level. They have played to wide acclaim at 500 concerts in Italy, France, Germany and the rest of the world.
The Maxwell String Quartet, hailing from Glasgow, is now firmly regarded as one of the world’s finest string quartets with a strong connection to their Scottish folk heritage. In 2017, they won first prize and the audience prize at Norway’s Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition.
The Spanish Brass Quintet is considered one of the most dynamic quintets on the international musical stage. They have published 26 recordings, two DVD-CDs and a double CD collection which shows their multiple talents. In 2020, they received the Spanish National Music Award. In 2017, they received first prize in the Banka Awards for Musical Talent of the Comunitat de Valencia.
