Charges filed in Florence shooting, victim critical

The Florence Police Department has identified the suspect arrested in connection with a shooting that has left a man critically injured.

Trever Talbott was arrested and charged in the Feb. 2 shooting near the intersection of Hunt Highway and Highway 79, according to a Florence Police press release.

Talbott was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault causing serious injury, drive-by shooting and disorderly conduct, the release stated.

The victim, Justin Miller, remains in critical condition and on life support.

The incident began in the Box Canyon off-road area east of Florence and involved a utility-task vehicle driver and two individuals on dirt bikes, Florence Police stated in the days after the shooting.

Florence Police state that the shooting remains an active investigation, and is urging members of the public with additional information to contact police at 520-868-7681, option 4 or the tip line at 520-868-8331.
