Florence High School announces new head football coach

Posted

Jesse Hart will be named the next head football coach for Florence High School for the 2022-23 school year, pending governing board approval.

Hart will begin working with the departing interim Coach Bill McKane and the school's current coaching staff to continue the momentum the team has built this year.

Hart played football at Dobson High School before heading to Dixie Community College in St. George, Utah, and finally playing at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Hart has been coaching at the high school level since 2007, with time spent at Mountain View High School, Combs High School and most recently as the defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach at Westwood High School.

Hart is committed to building strong relationships with students, athletes and parents, so that on Friday night Florence High School is the place to be.

Hart earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and master’s degree in education with an emphasis in physical education. He possesses an Arizona teaching certificate and will on the FHS campus full-time in the fall.

“We are elated to land a head football coach like Coach Hart at Florence High School,” said Florence Unified School District Superintendent Chris Knutsen. “His reputation of building a quality program from youth football to a solid varsity program will help to make Florence High football flourish.”
