Florence Hospital, 4545 N. Hunt Highway, a campus of Mountain Vista Medical Center, has selected Amy Chatterton as its new assistant chief financial officer.

She will be responsible for helping maintain the financial health of the hospital by assisting with month-end closing tasks, compiling and finalizing financial information, year-end audit tasks, budget preparation, as well as enforcing accounting policies and procedures. She has more than 10 years of finance leadership experience in health care operations, according to a release.

“This promotion recognizes Amy’s financial management experience and in-depth understanding of our financial operations,” Theresa Mouton, Steward Health Care west region chief financial officer, said in the release. “We are excited to be able to promote within the organization and allow Amy to pursue her desired career objective.”

Ms. Chatterton was promoted from a senior financial analyst position for Steward Health Care’s west region. In her previous position, she would prepare month-end reports, identify and analyze outcome measurements with metrics that monitored financial cost, physician performance, hospital department statistics and payer mix trends. She has also held finance leadership positions for North Valley Plastic Surgery and Desert Pain Institute, both in the Phoenix area, the release states.

She has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix and has received certification in Arizona State University’s Healthcare Executive Leadership program.
