Goodyear recognized for excellence in employee wellness

For the second year in a row, the city of Goodyear achieved the platinum level of excellence in worksite wellness by the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program.
The award recognizes the city of Goodyear for its comprehensive wellness strategy to continue to improve the health and well-being of its employees, their families and their community, according to a news release.
Even with current social distancing recommendations, the city’s wellness program is strong, providing virtual employee nutrition and healthy eating workshops, the release stated.
“Since working at the city Goodyear, I look at wellbeing in a whole new way,” five-year employee Melissa Gibson stated in the release. “The city truly believes in building up employees to be the best version of themselves in all aspects of life.”
The city of Goodyear fosters a culture that focuses on the wellbeing of the whole employee, whether that be financial, physical or emotional health. One way the city continues to attract and retain a talented and dedicated workforce is by investing in the health and wellness of its employees, the release stated.
