Goodyear community donates to Cancer Treatment Centers of America
Posted
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the Goodyear community has rallied around hospitals and medical workers by providing food, masks and encouragement to front-line heroes.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear hasn’t been forgotten.
“During COVID, cancer patients still need to have their treatment, so that has not changed,” Molly Stockley, vice president of business development and hospital growth at CTCA Phoenix, stated in a release. “We have been able to partner with quite a few of you (in Goodyear). When we asked, you stepped up.”
Among those in Goodyear who have stepped up for CTCA are:
Hannah Mack, a Girl Scout and student at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Goodyear, who raised $5,000 to donate 150 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to CTCA staff.
Kindergartners, first-, second- and third-graders from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, who shared hundreds of hand-drawn cards to encourage staff.
FASTSIGNS in Goodyear, which created and donated a number or “Heroes Work Here” signs and banners to be placed in and around the hospital.
Goodyear Police Sergeant Sean Clarke, who handed out cotton candy to CTCA staff.
Mike and Tyler Yates, owners of Yates Buick GMC in Goodyear, who donated 50 oil changes to CTCA.
A large number of people and organizations in Goodyear, including Red Lion Inn and PebbleCreek Quilters Club, who donated handmade masks to the hospital.
“Thank you for making us a part of your family. We feel your love and we feel your encouragement, and we just can’t thank you enough for letting us be a part of your community and to serve you,” Ms. Stockley said.
