Dutch Bros employee in Goodyear tests positive for COVID-19

Posted

Dutch Bros, the popular drive-thru coffee company with locations throughout the Valley, announced Tuesday, June 16 that an employee of its store at 14160 W. Indian School Road in Goodyear has tested positive for COVID-19 and the store is closed to undergo deep cleaning.

The company posted the announcement on its website and shared it to its Facebook page, stating that an employee was tested Saturday, June 13 and is self-quarantining for 14 days after receiving the positive results on Tuesday.

The employee last worked a night shift on Thursday, June 11, the company stated.

“We learned of the positive case on Tuesday, 6/16, and immediately began closing procedures. As an extra precaution, our Goodyear shop will undergo a third-party deep clean before reopening. We are also coordinating with public health officials to confirm our protocols not only meet, but exceed, expectations,” the announcement stated.

Over the last few weeks, the company has followed a series of procedures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:

  • Enforced increased hand-washing and sanitizing;
  • Temporarily suspended the use of personal mugs at drive-thrus;
  • Temporarily closed walk-ins and walk-ups to focus exclusively on serving drive-thru windows;
  • Instituted a cashless payment system, eliminating unnecessary touch points between customers and broistas; and
  • Instituted mask policies to align with updated Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations

“We want the community to know we’re following all recommended CDC guidelines and will continue to keep the community’s health at the forefront of all decisions we make,” the company stated.
