Student robotics, leadership field trips approved

Two field trips for Queen Creek High School’s robotics team and one for Eastmark High School students to attend a leadership conference were recently approved,
The Queen Creek Unified School District Governing Board OK’d the trips as part of a Feb. 11 consent agenda.
Robotics competitions
Thirteen robotics students from QCHS, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road in Queen Creek, are to attend a competition March 11-14 at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.
The cost of $1,040 --- or $80 a student --- includes registration, transportation, lodging and meals, according to a field-trip request form.
Thirteen QCHS robotics students are also to attend the March 19-23 First Robotics Competition in Ventura, California.
The cost is also $1,040 --- or $80 a student --- and includes the same items, according to a field-trip request form.
Leadership conference
A total of 20 students in the Future Business Leaders of America at EHS, 9560 E. Ray Road in Mesa, are to attend the April 6-8 state leadership conference in Tucson.
The $3,000 cost of the trip --- for registration, transportation and lodging --- is to be paid by club funds, according to an activity request form.
The purpose of the field trip is for the club members to “develop leadership skills and present competition pieces to qualify for National Leadership Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah,” according to a field trip information form.
More than 1,800 FBLA members and advisers are to attend the conference in Tucson, according to azfbla.org.
