Chandler Police address animal abuse allegations
Posted
INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The Chandler Police Department announced Wednesday that it's aware of a social media post alleging a case of animal abuse occurring in the city.
"In coordination with the Arizona Humane Society, we are taking all legal measures to ensure the animals are being provided appropriate care," the department said in a news release. "We are working with the rescue to ensure that she is actively seeking ongoing medical treatment for the dogs as well as actively seeking homes for them."
Chandler Police said it has an active investigation underway.
"If probable cause is found to justify the seizure of the animals, local ordinances and state law will allow for such action to occur," the department said.
The Chandler Police non-emergency phone number is 480-782-4130.
