The City of Chandler’s Golden Neighbors program is hosting a free physical health event for “golden” residents from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 17 in the Tumbleweed Recreation Center's Cotton Room South, 745 E. Germann Road.
This month’s gathering will be in celebration of National Take a Walk Day, according to a news release. Attendees can learn where to walk safely in Chandler, get a tour of the Tumbleweed Recreation Center and enjoy a short, indoor walk with their neighbors.
Attendees also will receive a free pedometer and goals chart to start a healthy new habit of walking.
Chandler residents planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP online by Tuesday, April 15 through the Golden Neighbors webpage. Attendees also may call 480-782-4362, or email neighborhood.programs@chandleraz.gov to RSVP.
The Golden Neighbors program was created as a resource to connect Chandler seniors with services offered by the city and local partners. For more information about the program, or to make a donation, click here.
