West Valley Women to celebrate 15th anniversary virtually

West Valley Women, an organization that prides itself on the art of networking for career and personal development, will celebrate its 15th anniversary Tuesday, June 30 with a “Fabulously Fun” virtual event featuring Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, a host of prizes and a Funky Handbag Contest.

The virtual event, noon to 1:15 p.m. on Zoom, will follow the organization’s monthly Conversations and Connections, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $7 members and $12 non-members. Attendees will be sent a Zoom link upon registering at westvalleywomen.org/members/product/july-2020-registration.

Life and health coach Jeffrey Hattrick will judge the Funky Handbag Contest, selecting Best Overall Story, Colorful/Cheerful Makes You Smile, Most Versatile, Vintage and Judge’s Choice winners.

Door prizes for the event include a gift certificate to Memory Lane Trinkets and Treasures from Jacquelyn Ahrenberg of Resolute Nonprofit Consulting, gift basket from Lisa Doromal of Dress for Success Phoenix, fancy wine glass and cake plate from Pat Fehlhaber of Uniquely You Jewelry & BabyKakes 2, one-year print/digital magazine subscription, Green Living T-shirt and sustainable gift from Green Living AZ, gift certificate from Michele King Bruen of im.fit, Moscow mule kit from Kathy Knecht for State Representative, LD 21, Thrive Causemetics mascara and eye-brightening highlighter sets from Joanne Grady, The Singletons, Bucket of Bliss from Bernadine McCollum and Sue Dolphin of the Wickenburg Conservation Foundation and Wickenburg Walk to Boot Breast Cancer, homemade rum cake from Jan Olsen of Bee So Busy, and items to be determined from  Jeannie Grates of Inspira Arrowhead and Joanne Osborne of Osborne Jewelers.

West Valley Women brings together those who live, work and conduct business in Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Laveen, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City and Surprise. Members come together to promote one another, and share information, ideas, contacts and opportunities.

Online Conversations and Connections, informal hourlong chats, are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 and 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 23. Women from throughout the community are invited to attend at no cost.
