This week Buckeye Elementary School District families should have received surveys from respective schools about the new academic year, which opens Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Due to coronavirus precautions, the district’s seven K-8 schools and two preschools that serving 5,700 students with more than 600 staff members will open the new year with a fully online curriculum to allow students to distance-learn from home.

“Currently, we are slated to return to school for in person instruction at the end of the first quarter, unless circumstances change or the Governor orders otherwise,” the district states on its website.

The district will continue its laptop loaning program to start the new year for families needing to request digital devices.
