Miller Road closing April 26 for construction projects
Posted
A Buckeye road will be closed next week as the city prepares for three major infrastructure projects.
Miller Road northbound at Durango, between Lower Buckeye Road and Warner, and between Broadway Road and Southern Avenue will close beginning at 6 a.m. April 26 through 6 p.m. May 4, 2021.
East and westbound traffic on Durango, Lower Buckeye, Warner, Broadway and Southern will remain open.
The Durango project will only restrict northbound travel between Hess and Durango to continue the installation of the 21-inch sewer line currently underway.
The project between Lower Buckeye and Warner Road is connecting a sewer line from the John S. McCain Elementary School to the newly installed 21-inch sewer line in Miller Road.
The project between Broadway and Southern is for installation of water pressure reducing valves for the Jackie A. Meck Water Campus. These PRVs will ensure proper water pressure is maintained for all homes and businesses in the area when the Meck Water Campus is complete.
Detour signs will direct traffic around all closures.
Coordinating these three projects to occur at the same time prevents individual closures of Miller Road within a short time period. While these closures will cause temporary traffic delays and a longer commute, when completed, the infrastructure in this area will properly serve the residents and businesses along Miller Road for years to come.
