Human skeletal remains found in Buckeye desert

Human skeletal remains  were found about 1 p.m.  Saturday in a remote desert area near Johnson Road and Southern in Buckeye, police said.

The remains, which included a skull and other bones, were found by a person who was off-roading,  police said.

Investigators were at the scened Saturday afternoon, and the remains will be turned over to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic examination and identification, Buckeye police said.
