Buckeye police have arrested a second suspect in connection to the murder of 15-year-old Brendan Valenzuela that occurred Sunday, Jan. 22.
According to a statement made by the BPD, Buckeye police working with the U.S. Marshals Service served a search warrant at a Phoenix home and located 19-year-old Michael Michel.
He was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County jail on multiple charges including homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and armed robbery.
His bond is held at $1 million.
On Jan. 22, officers responded to a call on Crown King Road and 257th Drive and found the victim, 15-year-old Valenzuela, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Valenzuela was taken to a hospital where he died later due to his gunshot wound.
Police learned Valenzuela was with a group of people near St. Charles Court and 255th Drive, where a confrontation took place.
This is where a 17-year-old who has not yet been identified, grabbed a handgun and shot Valenzuela during the fight, according to police.
He then sped away. Buckeye police later arrested him and booked him into juvenile detention on suspicion of homicide, police said.
