With such a busy agenda for its July 26 meeting, it wasn't surprising the Buckeye Planning and Zoning Commission ended up tabling one item.
The item — preliminary plat approval for a housing development called San Madera — is back on the agenda for the board's Tuesday, Aug. 9 meeting as one of only three scheduled hearing items.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at Buckeye City Hall, 530 E. Monroe Ave.
San Madera is a proposed 546-unit, single-family-home development located near the northwest corner of Broadway and Watson roads, near Youngker High School and a canal.
The 150-acre plat would have a density of about 3.74 homes per acre. It's already zoned as residential.
Meritage Homes, the developer plans a variety of lot sizes. A park area and an amenity building are planned.
Also on Tuesday's agenda is a site plan review for Ironwood at Blue Horizons. It's described as Village 7 on the Blue Horizons Villages Community Master Plan.
The developer, Todd Tucker of Capital West Homes & Development, is proposing 238 total units, of three different types, on about 22 infill acres. The elbow-shaped property is located on the west side of Jackrabbit Trail, just south of West Blue Horizon Parkway North.
Tucker's plan includes 88 multi-family villas and 150 multifamily apartments, for a total of 238 multi-family units.
The property had been previously approved for a maximum development of 103 multi-family villas and 150 multi-family apartments, or 253 total multi-family units.
Tucker's proposal would have a density of 7.9 units per acre for the 88 villas and 13.6 units per acre for the 150 apartments.
Also on Tuesday's agenda is a 50-foot-tall billboard digital proposed for a 5.7-acre parcel located at the southwest corner of 247th Avenue and Yuma Road, next to Jones Ford. The Lamar Companies are requesting site plan approval for the digital billboard on the northwest corner, closest to Interstate 10 frontage, across Yuma Road right-of-way.
Only one access and utility easement along Yuma Road is planned. Upon development of the remainder of the parcel, the billboard will be accessed from the associated on-site parking area.
