The Agua Fria Union High School District operates five high schools and two alternative programs in the cities of Goodyear, Avondale, Waddell, Buckeye and Glendale, serving about 8,700 students.

The community transmission level in the district is considered high, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services. There are nearly 289 cases per 100,000 people—a 20.52% percent positivity rate as of Aug. 5.

The district reports COVID-19 cases on a dashboard on the district website. The site states that data is updated every Friday at 3 p.m. but on Friday Aug. 6, the data had not been updated since the previous semester and the dashboard disappeared from the site over the weekend.

The updated COVID numbers appeared on the site Monday morning. The district now appears to be updating case numbers each day.
