Volunteers sought for Oct. 10 'Make a Difference Day' in Apache Junction

Posted

The Apache Junction Community Development Corp. will host its second “Make a Difference Day” for the community on Oct. 10.

The effort has been revised to follow social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols during this time and will be held 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 10. Registration to volunteer is open at https://apachejunctioncdc.com. Register by Oct. 2.

Projects will be smaller, allowing for fewer people in one location and distancing to follow federal and local health and safety guidelines.

The projects can use volunteers of all ages and abilities and will include clean-ups around the community as well as at Silly Mountain, one of the community’s most popular attractions.

The CDC is accepting donations of funds, work gloves, rakes and heavy duty garbage bags for the day. Cash donations will go to future projects, including the Boys and Girls Club “Field of Dreams” revitalization.
