The Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a new virtual classroom program created for kindergarten through sixth-grade students enrolled in school who need a supervised and safely socially distanced place to go to for their 9 a.m.-2 p.m. school day.
The program was designed to provide a safe learning environment for students in working families to participate in their school’s online learning class, according to a post on Facebook @ajparksandrec.
The city is modeling the program to fit the Apache Junction-area schools. It will be held at the Apache Junction Multi-Generational Center, 1035 N. Idaho Road.
Students will bring their own learning materials and wear a face mask when needed.
The Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department is to hold the program until Apache Junction Unified School District opens classrooms for in-person learning.
