Swim team coach sought for 2020 aquatic season
Posted
Independent Newsmedia
Apache Junction Parks and Recreation is looking to bring back its recreational swim team for the 2020 aquatic season.
There is a renewed interest for a recreational swim team, so city officials are hoping to find just the right coach for the job, according to a release.
"They are looking for a reliable and responsible individual with high energy and enthusiasm. An ideal coach will have a passion for the sport; prior swim team experience, demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents as well as ability to connect with the swimmers," the release states.
The parks and rec swim team is designed to teach basic competitive swimming skills, build self-esteem and improve strokes throughout the summer. Workouts will be tailored according to what the coaches feel are necessary for the team to work on. Individual coaching and guidance will be provided to the best of their ability based on what skills need improvement, the release states.
The 2020 season runs end of May to July with morning practices. It is open to participants ages 6-17 who have an American Red Cross swimming ability equivalent to Level IV swim lessons
