SRP invites customers to plant savings with free shade trees

Posted

People attending one of two free workshops Saturday, April 4 --- at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive --- can receive two free desert-adapted trees.

SRP's Shade Tree Program provides customers with the trees to help them save energy, conserve water and beautify their landscapes according to a release.

Shading a home helps to reduce cooling costs, improve air quality and lower the Valley's heat effect without using a lot of water, it states.

To receive free trees, participants are required to attend a free workshop to learn how to best plant and care for the free trees. Space is limited. Reserve a spot by signing up online srpnet.com/shadetrees.
