Speaker to discuss ‘America’s 1st City’ in Zoom presentation

Bill Iseminger will address the San Tan Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society in a Zoom presentation at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 when he will talk about Cahokia, the largest prehistoric settlement north of Mexico, according to a release.

The meeting will be presented by Zoom.

The talk is titled Mighty Cahokia: America’s First City.

Iseminger’s archaeological experience includes projects in South Dakota and in Illinois, including excavations and surveys at Dickson Mounds, Kincaid Creek and the lower Kaskaskia River Valley, the release stated.

He has worked at Cahokia Mounds since 1971 and for years led public field schools in excavations on the Stockade, Woodhenge, and Mound 50.
