San Tan Valley land sold for $14M, apartment project planned

Posted

A more than 20-acre piece of land in San Tan Valley has been purchased for more than $14 million, paving the way for a 318-unit apartment project.

The land was acquired by Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, according to a press release from Western Retail Advisors, the retail brokerage firm that represented the buyers.

The site sits at the southeast corner of Gantzel Road and El Parque Lane and is surrounded by single-family housing and is walkable to retailers such as Safeway, Walgreens, McDonalds and more.

It is also just south of the $5.5 billion LG Energy Solutions battery manufacturing complex under construction in Queen Creek.

The apartment will feature Z Modular’s steel-framed, garden-style Flatz apartment design. The units  will be manufactured at Z Modular’s Chandler factory and will then be transported to the San Tan Valley location for on-site completion.

Flatz are three-story garden-style walkups with a central, freestanding clubhouse, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and more, according to Z Modular’s website.

Base4 and STG are the architects on record.

Zekelman is a Chicago-based steel pipe and tube manufacturer with 20 manufacturing locations and more than 3,200 employees across North America.
