Beginning May 27, the city of Apache Junction will start drainage improvement projects that will affect traffic in two areas.
On West Apache Trail, Meridian Drive to Ocotillo Drive, there are to be lane restrictions and closures in both directions, 24 hours a day, according to a release.
Also:
Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.
Median crossover access may be intermittently affected.
Business access will remain open.
Estimated completion: June 12.
On West 16th Avenue, Saguaro Drive to Ironwood Drive, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. Also:
The eastbound bike lane and sidewalk will be closed
Estimated completion: June 20.
These are not full road closures, but delays are expected. Plan ahead, drive with caution in work zones and stay safe, the release states.
