Rachel Charisa Rizzi, 34, of Apache Junction, died May 17.

She attended Gold Canyon Elementary School, Thunder Mountain Middle School and Apache Junction High School.

She is the daughter of Robert Matsch and Councilwoman Christa Rizzi.

A viewing is planned for noon-4 p.m. Friday, May 22, at At Season’s End Mortuary, 861 W. Superstition Blvd. in Apache Junction. A Celebration of Life is 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Hitching Post Saloon, 2341 N. Apache Trail in Apache Junction. All are welcome.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made on her behalf to Apache Junction Paws and Claws Center.

“Rachel loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She would have given every one of them a home if she could,” Councilwoman Rizzi said in a Facebook post. “Please keep Rachel’s children in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle with the loss of their beloved mother.”

Donations also may be given to the Rachel Rizzi Memorial Fund at Pinal County Federal Credit Union for her children --- Jaxon, 7; Kaylee, 11; Kyleigh, 11; and Tabatha, 15

A car wash fundraiser is to be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 22-24, at the Hitching Post Saloon. All donations are to go to the Rachel Rizzi Memorial Fund for her four children.
