Discussion and/or consultation with the city attorney on the city’s invocation at council meetings and possible litigation is one of three of the topics at the Apache Junction City Council’s Feb. 6 closed-door executive session.
The City Council is to meet in executive session, which is not open to the public, at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Executive Session Conference Room, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
Agenda items are:
Discussion and/or consultation for legal advice with the city attorney regarding the city’s invocation at council meetings and contemplated litigation;
Discussion and/or consultation for legal advice with the city attorney regarding an amendment to the development agreement between the city of Apache Junction and Mehmood Mohiuddin; and
Discussion and/or consultation for legal advice with the city attorney regarding downtown development and the possible purchase, sale, or lease of real property therein.
State law allows the meetings per Arizona Revised Statutes 38-431.03, which states, in part, that upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, a public body may hold an executive session. It goes on to list seven subsections detailing the types of meetings that may be held, according to azleg.gov.
