The Superstition Mountain Republican Club on March 12 will have Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer as a featured speaker. The club is also hosting Dr. Krista Anderson, superintendent of Apache Junction Unified School District.

The club will hold its monthly meeting 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Village Inn, 575 W. Apache Trail in Apache Junction. Meet 5:30-6:30 p.m. for a social hour and the opportunity to share a meal and fellowship, according to a release.

"The SMRC welcomes everyone seeking to be a more-informed person within their community. We hope to see all of you at the meeting for an evening of fellowship and information," the release states.

Pinal County Attorney Volkmer strives to treat people with fairness, dignity and respect, the release states.

"Mr. Volkmer’s goal has been to create a system of individualized justice. Mr. Volkmer wants county prosecutors to look at each case on its individual merits and seek a penalty that fits each individual crime. On the other end of the spectrum, he does not believe every person who commits a crime needs to go to jail," according to the release.

"Mr. Volkmer encourages the use of diversion, specialty courts, adult probation and prison to hold offenders accountable while giving offenders the skills necessary to successfully reintegrate into society." the release states.

"(Dr. Anderson) believes in a focus on children and their learning, a strong push towards strengthening our instructional leadership, emphasizing the importance of aligning our tangible and intangible assets, ensuring our time money and resources are aligned with the district's mission, and a commitment to excellence," the release states.

"Please come and be part of the conversation with these two individuals and their relation with our community."
