The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is spreading the word about a number of “vague” school-related threats making their way through social media, with one specifying Combs High School.
“Some of these vague threats are made toward unspecific schools and are not considered credible,” a PCSO Facebook post stated
While investigating the Combs High School situation, it “was determined that a conversation was misheard and spread third-party between students. This incident remains under investigation.”
PCSO stated that the vague school threats have become a trend across Arizona and the nation.
Over the last several days, PCSO has increased deputy presence at several schools in Pinal County “out of an abundance of caution,” the post continued.
“PCSO treats all threats with the utmost seriousness and our students’ safety is of the highest priority. We work closely with our school resource officers and local school districts to look into each and every reported incident” PCSO stated.
The sheriff’s office is asking that the public not repost the threats and instead report them to PCSO at 520-866-5111.
