Native American Fatherhood and Families Association will be sponsoring an art market 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at NAFFA Plaza, 525 W. Southern Ave. in Mesa.
The art market will give many artisans the opportunity to showcase their work and for the public to buy, according to a release.
NAFFA will receive one piece from each vendor to be auctioned off at NAFFA’s Precious Gem’s Award Banquet silent auction on Nov. 2 at the Double Tree by Hilton in Mesa to raise funds for its programs and seminars.
NAFFA’s programs train facilitators from all communities around the U.S. so they can strengthen the families in their own communities.
Fatherhood Is Sacred Motherhood Is Sacred, Linking Generations by Strengthening Relationships and Addressing Family Violence & Abuse use time-honored cultural principles and practices as a foundation to build strong families that are resilient to divorce, domestic and substance abuse, suicide and human trafficking.
The result of these programs has been an increased awareness of the sacred purposes of families with strengthened relationships and communities. NAFFA’s regional seminars are mini conferences held in cities across the U.S. in places to encourage and promote responsible fatherhood and motherhood to keep families together.
NAFFA’s art market will display at least 21 booths of ribbon skirts, beaded jewelry, crocheted items, artwork, food, music and more.
