Moreland: Don't call new SMES school a liberal-arts academy

Why did you use the term liberal arts in newspaper for the old SMES school (“AJUSD may start liberal-arts academy at former elementary site” on the cover of the August 2024 Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent newspaper)?
The name is classical. You are misleading many residents with an incorrect labeling.
Please post a correction. And not on page 300.
Editor’s note: No correction is needed. The superintendent explained it in the story as: “What I’m proposing is that as we look at 2025-26 to open SMES as a classical academy, a liberal arts school, OK, that teaches the classics; it teaches languages; it does music, science, mathematics — all of that.”
