Your Name: Tom Mahon

Age: I am 38 years old and father of five and grandfather of four, so far.

Business Name: I own and operate 480 Plumbing LLC.

Town/Neighborhood: I have lived in Apache Junction for the past 25-plus years and have been plumbing in the Valley for over 20 years.

Hours of operation: We are open 24 hours, six days a week. I try to keep Sunday for my family day but help my customers when I am needed.

Professional background highlights: I spent many years working for the “big name” companies in the Valley and wasn’t moving any further forward with my career. I felt I could do better for customers by myself and offer better-quality work at a cheaper price with honest diagnosis of issues, not pushy sales tactics. I am licensed, bonded and insured. I wanted to be different than the others, so I purchased a black cargo van and had graphics in neon green with a professional logo put on it.

What I do: I specialize in problem-solving all plumbing and drain issues. I also specialize in water heaters whether it be conventional, tankless or hybrid units, faucets, toilets and disposals. I offer the best in water filtration that is designed for Arizona’s hard water.

What I’m excited about and why: I am excited for everyone to finally get a plumber they can trust and get the work done correctly the first time.

My interests and hobbies: When I am not working, I enjoy football, camping, boating and time with the large family we have built.

My guiding philosophy: It’s simple — I get called to your home, I diagnose issue and give you the menu to order what you want to do. Fix, repair, replacement or upgrade. There is no job too small, one call that’s all.

My advice to today’s youth: My advice for the youth is to put down the controller for your video games, grab a wrench and learn a trade.

My Goal: My goal is not to be a “big name” company but someone my community can trust and feel good about having in their homes.
