Judge sentences Pinal County man to 17 years for shooting, killing woman

A 42-year-old Santan man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for shooting a woman multiple times and killing her in December 2019.

Fernando Ray White was sentenced this week by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 210 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. White pleaded guilty on July 14 to second-degree murder, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

White, a member of the Gila River Indian Community, was arrested following and investigation by the Gila River Police Department and the FBI.
