Courage Under Cancer Foundation, an Apache Junction nonprofit, is hosting the Give Cancer the Boot Fashion Show in October.

The event will feature local models who have each pledged to raise $2,000. There will be drinks and hors d’oeuvres, raffle items and a runway fashion show, according to a release.

Tickets are $50-55 and are available at courageundercancer.org.

Models listed at the website include Braden Biggs, Cheri DeBree, Cyndi Wilson, Diane Haskins, Jason and Nora Wiseman, Jeff Mugongo, Jennifer and Trinity Riggs, Micah Watkins, Monae Baca, Nikki DeFalco, Nikol Adamski, Ryan Winkle and Ericka Varela, Sheila Popeck, Suzanne Davis, Tina Conley, Wade Keller and Wendy Justus.

The models will be strutting their stuff on the runway in three different looks — “Dress for Success,” “Night on the town” and “For fun I…”

As guests circulate the event, they can view and make bids in a silent auction, purchase a balloon for a balloon pop or take a chance at a lottery board. The show finishes with an award ceremony, with a crystal cowboy boot trophy given to the models who raised the most money for the foundation.

The Give Cancer the Boot Fashion Show fundraiser is 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at Robert Horne Ford, 3400 S. Tomahawk Road in Apache Junction.

The Courage Under Cancer Foundation’s mission is to assist individuals financially so that they do not have to choose between paying a bill vs. having cancer treatment performed.

“We’ve adopted the tagline ‘No one should go without cancer treatment because they can’t afford it.’ This mission and structure are what set us apart from other local and national cancer foundations,” Dee K. Baginski, a cancer survivor and the founder of the Courage Under Cancer Foundation, said in the release.
