Gift wrapping at Gold Canyon Visitors Center to benefit animal rescue

Posted

The Gold Canyon Visitors Center, 6607 S. Kings Ranch Road --- in the  former Wells Fargo Bank building --- is partnering with local animal-rescue efforts to offer holiday gift-wrapping free with any donation to the cause.

Donations will go to For the Animals, a Gold Canyon-based non-profit dedicated to animal rescue and recovery, according to a release.

Volunteer gift wrappers will be at the Visitors Center 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  Dec. 13-14, Dec. 18-21 and  Dec. 23; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 24.

"You’ll have a wide selection of boxes --- or bring your own, wrapping paper, ribbons and bows to choose from," according to the release.

“We’ll wrap anything and everything with any donation to For the Animals," Donna Fuerherm, local FTA board member, said in the release.

"Last year we raised over $2000 during this event, and we hope the community will support us again this year. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and 98% of every dollar goes to local animal rescue and recovery efforts," she said.

Look for the “gift wrap for rescue” signs on Kings Ranch Road.

"Even if you have nothing to wrap, you’re invited to drop by with your four-legged friend, make a donation, and enjoy a treat," the release states.
