Folk Legacy Trio perform Friday in Gold Canyon

Next in the Canyon Sounds Performance Series hosted by the Gold Canyon Arts Council is the Folk Legacy Trio at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, 6640 S. Kings Ranch Road.

The trio is hailed as “the living library” of the great 1950s-70s folk era. Members are George Grove, formerly with the Kingston Trio; Jerry Siggins, former lead singer of The Diamonds; and Rick Dougherty, former member of the Limelighters and The Kingston Trio.

The Folk Legacy Trio will take you on a musical journey with songs by Peter, Paul, and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot, Simon and Garfunkel, The New Christy Minstrels, Judy Collins, The Brothers Four, Joan Beaz, The Chad Mitchell Trio, John Denver, and many others.

The Gold Canyon Arts Council’s nonprofit mission is arts education for underserved students in regional schools, providing:

  • Visual arts lessons and supplies;
