Essay contest for free horse-riding lessons offered by Apache Junction Mounted Rangers

The Apache Junction Mounted Rangers are looking for five students in fourth through 12th grades who are interested in four months of free weekly horse-riding lessons.

Lessons funded by the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers will take place at the Good Shepherd Healing Ministries Horse Rescue stables in Apache Junction, according to a release.

Selected applicants will receive a complimentary package of weekly horseback riding lessons, use of equipment and facilities for four months.

Applicants must live within the Apache Junction Unified School District and submit an essay stating why they should be chosen for this opportunity.

Please include a cover letter with your name, address, phone number, name of school in which you are enrolled and your grade level. You will also need to include a letter of consent from your parent or guardian for you to receive the riding lessons and their agreement to provide transportation to and from the lessons.

Lessons will start Saturday, Sept. 19, and run through December 2020.
