Earth Day ladybug release April 5 in Apache Junction

Posted

Bring the whole family to Flatiron Community Park in Apache Junction on Saturday, April 5, for a free event packed with activities such as arts and crafts, face painters, seed planting, garden education, and of course the releasing of thousands of ladybugs.

The annual Earth Day celebration and ladybug release is 9-11 a.m. at the park, 100 N. Apache Trail.

Kabat’s Frontier Ace Hardware provides the ladybugs to release in the park.

“Feel free to release your ladybugs at home or at the Earth Heart Park Community Garden, 625 N Plaza Drive. Everyone is invited to help release them beginning at 9 a.m. There are plenty of ladybugs so come anytime throughout the event,” a release states.

For information on this program or other programs and services, call the Apache Junction Multi-Generational Center at 480-474-5240 or go to https://www.apachejunctionaz.gov/. The event is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/513459978079409.
