David M. Kinchlow Jr.,  a certified ServSafe food manager, is the new operations manager at Superstition Community Food Bank in Apache Junction.

"I'm excited to begin this incredible opportunity in the non-profit sector and to play an integral role in such an important cause," Mr. Kinchlow said in a release. "SCFB has been a respected and trusted service provider in the Greater Phoenix community for almost 50 years and I look forward to being part of its continued great tradition of feeding the most vulnerable among us."

He recently worked more than seven years in university-based retail food service, where he planned, opened and maintained campus-based concept stores, according to the release.

Mr. Kinchlow is a facilities management professional who has dedicated 20-plus years to honing his logistical operations, customer service and leadership skills in the food service, healthcare records, and real estate industries, the release states.

Born and raised in southern Indiana, he grew up in a family where hard work and "giving back" to the community were the order of the day and helped lay the foundation for who he is today, it states.

He credits his strong work ethic, effective communication skills and talent for teambuilding as lifelong tools that have served him well throughout his professional working life.

Mr. Kinchlow has done volunteer work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has worked as an informal mentor to local youth through area parks and recreation programs. He spent several years dabbling in the local entertainment circuit as an amateur stand-up comedian. The father of two and grandfather of three is an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, the release states.
