Circle K, GreenPrint announce Conserve program, to donate $15K

Apache Junction or east Mesa project planned

Circle K convenience stores and GreenPrint on Sept. 7 announced their collaboration on Conserve, a new sustainability and carbon-offsetting program.

Through the Conserve program, tailpipe emissions are offset and stores are powered through 100% renewable energy. The program will be available at 11 Circle K locations in the Mesa and Apache Junction area, according to a release.

“GreenPrint is thrilled to continue our partnership with Circle K to bring the Conserve program to East Mesa and Apache Junction,” Pete Davis, GreenPrint CEO, said in the release. “Everyday choices like filling up the gas tank can lead to big impact; Circle K is empowering customers with better choices by automatically offsetting fuel with every gallon.”

When consumers pump a gallon of fuel at participating Circle K locations, they are also contributing to carbon-emission-reduction projects, reducing tailpipe emissions by 30%.

Circle K and GreenPrint presented a $15,000 check to Arizona Sustainability Alliance during the program launch ceremony Sept. 8. The funds will be donated to one of four local community projects:

  • East Mesa park clean-Up, at Usery Mountain Regional Park.
  • East Mesa school tree planting.
  • Apache Junction park clean-up, at EarthHeart Park.
  • Apache Junction school tree planting.

Local residents are invited to cast their votes for one of four projects at the Circle K pumps Sept. 8-Oct. 21. The four projects in the contest support the expansion of green space, water conservation and shade canopies within the community, the release states.

“We are pleased to partner with both Circle K and GreenPrint as we work together towards sustainable solutions to improve lives for Arizonans,” Julia Colbert, programs director at Arizona Sustainability Alliance, said in the release. “Every choice counts when it comes to our environment.”

Arizona Sustainability Alliance is supporting the Conserve program through engaging with the local community and partners to actively improve local green spaces, water conservation and shade canopies.

“Programs such as Conserve are great for our communities,” Apache Junction Mayor Chip Wilson said in the release. “I am thrilled on behalf of the residents of Apache Junction and Mesa to see one of our businesses like Circle K work with GreenPrint and the Arizona Sustainability Alliance on a great local project that helps us all.”
