Chip seal work planned April 20-22 on Apache Junction rural roadways

Chip seal street preservation maintenance is planned April 20-22 at seven Apache Junction roadways.

They are, according to a release, the following:

  • Tepee Street; Meridian Drive to Idaho Road;
  • Smoketree Street; Meridian Drive to Saguaro Drive;
  • Shiprock Street; Meridian Drive to Ironwood Drive;
  • San Marcos Drive; Superstition Blvd. to Lost Dutchman Blvd.;
  • Tomahawk Road; Superstition Blvd. to Lost Dutchman Blvd.;
  • Second Avenue, Cortez Road to Starr Road; and
  • Vaquero Road, Old West Highway to north dead end.

Work is planned for the hours of 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 20-22. Work will result in lane restrictions and flagger operations leading to temporary traffic delays.

Drivers need to be alert, use caution and slow down for maintenance workers and equipment. Slower speeds are recommended after the work is completed until roadways are fully swept of the loose rock.
