Empty Bowls is a worldwide grass roots initiative that began in 1990 to help fight hunger. CAC ceramists create food-safe stoneware bowls and the CAC Culinary Arts students serve a simple meal of soup and bread, according to a release.
For a minimum donation of $10 cash, guests may choose a bowl to use and keep, as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.
All funds raised by the CAC Art Department are donated to local food banks.
Empty Bowls is sponsored by CAC Arts Department and Culinary Arts program, Marjon Inc., Laguna Clay and Vrana Law Firm.
