Blue Star Memorial dedication Nov. 11 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum

Gold Canyon Garden Club is dedicating a Blue Star Memorial at Boyce Thompson Arboretum at 2 p.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
“Consider joining us as we dedicate the Blue Star Memorial to the honor and glory of all those men and women who have served, are now serving, and will serve in the armed forces of this great nation,” according to a release.
The dedication will take place at the west end of the main parking lot of the arboretum with a reception immediately following on the Visitor Center patio.
Boyce Thompson Arboretum is at 37615 E. Arboretum Way in Superior. From the Phoenix metro area, take U.S. Highway 60 south of Apache Junction and Gold Canyon, then east past Queen Valley to the arboretum.
The arboretum features plant collections from the world’s deserts, historic buildings and hidden gardens along miles of trails. The arboretum is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. October-April, with last admission at 4 p.m., and closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas day. It is open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. May-September, with last admission at 2 p.m., and closed July 4. General admission is $15, $5 for ages 5-12 and free for members and children under 5, according to btarboretum.org.
