Betty Jo Wingard, born March 7, 1935 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at her home in Apache Junction, Arizona on July 22, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmer Wingard, her sons Warren Wingard and Wendell Wingard, her parents, Roy and Twila Steele, and her sister, Myra Pritts. Betty Jo was a creative and talented quilter, crafter and cook. She traveled the world with her husband during his military service in the Army, moving back to Rural Valley in 1974 when he retired. Betty Jo devoted her time in later years cooking and serving for those in need at Genesis Project non-profit food bank. Funeral services will be held on September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. graveside at Harkleroad Cemetery in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania.
